24 Hours in Berlin

In this post I wanted to describe and share what I did the first 24 hours of my trip to Berlin. This was in inspiration of how busy my first day was in Madrid and I decided to continue and do the same for the rest of the cities in Europe that I had the opportunity to travel and spent time on.

Arriving in Berlin

At around 5:00PM I arrived in Berlin, checked into my hostel in East Berlin. The hostel staff shared with me some of the places that I could go for Dinner and also mentioned the Social Hour going on later this day.

Dunch time! ie. Lunch + Dinner

At around 6:30 PM After showering, I went to the Hofbräu restaurant for dinner, where I had a German sausage platter, Delish!

After Dunch time

Went to on a walk to see the surrounding area of the hostel and hopefully get to the Humboldt Forum and took a lot of photos around all this area.

Some peace and quiet before the storm

After having a nice walk and seeing the Berlin TV Tower, Humboldt Forum and Cathedral, and its surranding area I decided to take a break and enjoy the stillness of the park.

Hostel Social Hour

At around 8:00PM I returned to the hostel to refresh, shower and get ready for a social event. During the event I met a few guys whom wanted to go out and we did!

First stop: Sisyphos Club

At around ~10:30 we left the hostel and went to Sisyphos Club were I was denied entry because I had not been to any other Berlin clubs.

Second stop: Matrix

At around ~11:00 PM the group and I went to Matrix and stayed there for about 1 hour.

Third stop: KitKatClub

At around ~12:00 PM / Midnight, Me and a smaller group left Matrix because the vibes were off to us and went to try our luck at KitKatClub, where we were denied for not following dress code LOL.

Fourth stop: Tresor

From like ~12:00 AM After KitKat we went to Tresor where we made it in and stayed until 3:00 AM. Tresor is huge and has different rooms with different vibes dope space!

Went to sleep

From 3AM until 9AM was sleeping time

ACID P-Berg

Woke up at like 10:00 AM and went to a coffee shop called ACID P-Berg, here I had croissants and a cappuccino.

The start of a long walk

at around 12:00 PM I visited the flea market at Mauerpark, here I got some film and bought some Chai Tea from a Guy that was born in NYC but lived in Berlin.

The beggining of the Berlin Wall

at around 3:00 PM I left the flea market and started my visit to the Berlin Wall Memorial.

At the memorial I took the time to learn more about the history and how this wall shape the city of Berlin and even to some extent the world.

Berlin Art Week

by around 4:00 PM I was in the area around Auguststraße which was hosting Berlin Art Week, and had the pleasure to visit some artist studios and also participate in an event were I can draw and paint my own tote bag.

Lunch/Dinner = Dunch

Around the this time 4:00 PM I was already hungry to I stopped at this restaurant called Keyser Soze - Berlin and had schnitzel and beer.

After 5:30 PM I returned to the hostel to change, and freshen up.

Beyond 24 hours: Berghain

At ~6:30 PM I tried my luck at Berghain as on Sundays they are open all day but I was denied entry :(

Beyond 24 hours: OXI & OXI Garten

After being denied entry to Berghain, I went to OXI & OXI Garten at around ~8PM and stayed until it closed at 10PM.

Beyond 24 hours: Renate

From 10PM until 1AM, I had been invited to the 18 years anniversary celebration of the Club Renate and it was awesome!

Sleep time

After 1:00 AM I returned to the hostel to rest and sleep.

Every step we take within our neighborhood is a step toward understanding, toward learning, toward the eternal curiosity.
